We are excited to announce that our second annual community service project, BRIDGE, is now underway! Launched in 2015, BRIDGE is an external outreach initiative designed to connect communities in need with the talent and vision of our industry for lasting impact. We are currently seeking donations from IIDA sponsors, industry partners, and the design community t large to help make this year’s project another success!

We are honored to devote this year’s effort to Mary’s Place, a Seattle-based organization dedicated to empowering homeless women, children, and families to reclaim their lives. At Mary’s Place, shelter, nourishment and resources are provided in a safe community for those seeking healing and hope.

We are planning a non-structural design in their downtown women’s day center for a room that serves as a space of respite for women undergoing severe trauma. Our goal is to turn it into a sanctuary space where they are secure from the outside world and free from emotional or physical stress. The implementation weekend is set for May 5-7, 2017.

We are looking for support through contributions of the following items:

(3) Twin poster bed frames
(3) Sets of poster bed curtains
(6-9) Under-bed storage bins/drawers
(3) Twin mattresses
(3) Twin mattress covers
(6) Sets of twin bedding with pillows
