1)     Why did you choose Interior Design?

It gives me creative control to alter how I and others experience life through their built environments.

2)     Why did you join IIDA?

My physical office and professional role as a Creative Director for Lumicor is somewhat isolated from the A&D community, where in the past, I’ve really thrived. I’ve found that with my increased involvement with IIDA committees and this board position it allows me to be integrated and connected with like-minded design professionals. I feel inspired and am capable of better thought and work in my role, when I have regular interaction with other designers.

3)     What is your favorite event that the IIDA hosts?

Toast was the first IIDA event that I attended as a new member here in Seattle, and I loved meeting so many warm and welcoming people. It was a festive celebration to thank the outgoing board and welcome the incoming. I was impressed and have enjoyed it every year since.

4)     Please tell us a couple interesting facts about you?

Fresh out of college, I moved to the great frontier of Alaska to practice interior design where I lived for nearly a decade before moving to Seattle.

I love my job! As the Creative Director for Lumicor, a company known for innovative architectural products, I’m responsible for forecasting trends, developing new products, and launching new lines. I also co-manage our amazing marketing team of designers, writers and social. My role is wildly creative and a fun deviation from a traditional design path. I feel a little bit like I work for Willy Wonka.
